Who we are
Calgary Speech and Language is a family-centered practice providing comprehensive speech-language therapy services to children and adults of all ages.

We are committed to helping our patients reach their full potential in all areas of communication and daily living skills.
Our Practice
Our process:

1. CONSULTATION
The consultation is an opportunity for you to tell us about yourself or your child. During this time, we can determine whether or not a speech and language evaluation would be beneficial based on the areas in question.
2. EVALUATION
A comprehensive speech and language evaluation will be administered, during which all areas of communication will be assessed. This typically includes a medical history, clinical observations and standardized testing. Play-based assessments, informal observations, and parent questionnaires are used to assess younger children. Personality, comfort-level, and temperament are all taken into consideration when structuring an assessment for each individual.
3. RECOMMENDATIONS
Following the evaluation process, your therapist will review their findings, clinical observations and recommendations. We help you to understand what we have learned and provide you with recommendations for further treatment.
Patients, caregivers, or family members are welcome to ask any questions they may have.
4. THERAPY
Therapy will target areas of need identified during the evaluation process. The treatment plan will primarily focus on patients’ and families’ specific goals related to improving functional communication, daily living skills and self-esteem.
5. CHECK-INS
Continuous communication with patients and their families is encouraged throughout the therapy process to discuss progress, address concerns and ensure that everyone is comfortable with the process.
6. COLLABORATIONS
Collaboration with other disciplines: To ensure the best results for our patients, we may collaborate with other disciplines.

We are interested and available to communicate with any other medical or educational professionals involved in you or your child’s case.
